Hi at Christmas I put a set of second hand nimrods and tyres on the car. At the time I did not have balance and tracking checked.
At the moment the car is pulling to the left and feels a bit unsteady. Almost wobbly or like its wandering. This becomes worse at higher speed. Aldo small vibration can be felt through the steering past 45-50.
Does this sound like balance and tracking?
[UPDATE]
Just got back from the garage. Balance and tracking done. What a difference!!
No more fighting the steering wheel. Feels planted and smooth. At some point all 4 tyres need replacing. But that was planned in anyway. All suspension parts etc checked and no issues.

Possibly the balance of the wheels is out, but just taking it off one car and putting it on another shouldn't adjust the balance. Had the wheels been stored for a while?
If you have only swapped wheels over, then the tracking should be as it was before.
A wheel may be damaged or tyre twisted.
Have you checked the air pressures and are the treads worn evenly? It's possible that the car they came off had an issue with it's suspension and that has caused uneven tyre wear, which can result in the car pulling. Are they rotational marked tyres?
If you hold your hand flat and run the palm over the width of the tyre, you may feel feathering. Basically shape the tyre has been worn to on the tread blocks. Make sure that it feels the same on both sides. You could swap the fronts for rears and see if you still feel the same symptoms when driving.

The wheels were stored for some time in a breakers yard.
The back left is worn unevenly. I originally had it on the front but too much noise. So put it to the back. At some point i need to change both back wheels.
My suspension is all ok. I will probably take it to the garage and ask them to double check the balance and tracking.
As I have gone from 14" alloys to 16" alloys is the tyre pressure the same setting?

Just another thought. The tracking was a little off before I changed the wheels. Would going to larger wheels amplify this?

I've never known tracking problems to be amplified by putting slightly bigger wheels on as it's basically the direction the hub is pointing, but someone may be able to shed more light on that. Might be some scientific calculation that can be used, but normally if you fit bigger wheels, you fit lower profile tyres, so the difference in the overall diameter is minimal.
I think Peugeot recommend 32-34 psi, depending on load.

Thanks will check air then go to garrage and ask them to check.
Could it be anything to do with changing my discs and pads on sat? It only does it when cruising not braking.

It could be. Hitting a pothole can knock tracking out, so tugging and hitting at discs to remove them could have the same effect. Also if there was any debris left on the hub surface when the new disc was offered up, will have a knock on effect to where the wheel points which could cause the vibration.
Even the discs might be a problem. If the balance on the disc was out then that will give you vibration. Cheaper discs can suffer from this as they don't go through the same quality of machining as the more expensive products. There is also the bedding in process to consider. If you have gone out and not bedded the pads in and just gone into heavy braking, the discs can warp easily or leave a pad impression which again can give you the vibration.

Ah had to be quite rough to get old off vary rusted. I have not done any hard braking and did not buy cheap discs so, I am happy they are ok. Everything was cleaned before the new discs went on. Also hi a few bad bits in the road the other day.
Looking more like balance and tracking check would be a good idea! thanks

If you have tracking done please use a place with full 4 wheel alignment. The rear on your 206 isn't adjustable so you will only pay for tracking £35(ish) but the equipment is far more accurate than conventional kit and it will take into account exactly where your rear wheels are pointing.
I bet your rears aren't pointing where the manufacturer says they should and the better equipment will more easily compensate for that.

Thank you for that. I didn't know this. I will ask the garage. I've only had my 206 since oct. had an Astra for 10yrs before that.

Now that the cost has come down to reasonable levels I would apply 4 wheel alignment to all cars now even if the rear is not adjustable.
