Bought this 2.0 hdi dtubo a few days back it had no not on it and the lights didn't work right how ever they took it for not sorted the lights out and every thing worked as it should but know its doing it again. Basically when indicating left on a night using auto lights it will still indicate but it turns all the lights off inside and out of the car also I'd I indicate right it will do the indication a few times then stop. If I just turn the lights on normal it works fine. I have had all the fuses out of the under bonnet box and they were all highly corroded so cleaned them up and replaced a few that were beyond cleaning but still no joy.
Also the horn doesn't work now and the tailgate break light has a few bulbs lit up all time.

Is there a way to just get rid of the auto lights altogether so I don't have to have my lights on through the day to indicate ? Cut some wires out maybe I'm no novice when it comes to cars but its p**sing me off now why do they think putting stupid auto crap into cars is a good thing its more Hassel than its worth tbh. Any help would be great full thanks

You can turn the auto lights off using the stalk ( Can on my 180 anyway! )
I'd imagine you've got an earth issue somewhere, tried a bsi soft boot?

How do I do the bsi software boot ?? I noticed a wire had been rubbing on to the belt at some point drivers front light so I've tucked it out of the way but its making lights go dim on that side so I'll rejoin that up as well when I've got a spare 5 mins. The car had been stood for some months as well and it had been valeted so every thing inside was wet through still and a little mouldy but it wiped off the seats.
I have tried to turn the key to first position then pushed in the auto light button for a few seconds but still won't disable it and I tried a fair few times to do it as well and I don't fancy changing the comm unit as its not a cheap part to start with and then it not be that and out of pocket if its not that

to turn auto lights on/off turn key to first position IE: dash lights then hold in stalk button it should say in the mfd if its on or off
for soft boot look in the how to section mate

i would also add that this could well be a comms unit fault but worth trying a bsi reset first.

I found the bsi reboot section on here so I'll try that when I'm home from work tomorrow. The auto lights off does nothing when turning key to first position.
Any idea where the earths are for the lights ?
Was just saying to step dad that the engine bay is way too clean even though its only done 84 k and with the fuse box under the bonnet been heavily corroded I'd say some idiot had the engine bay steam cleaned as there's not 1 bit of dirt under the bonnet and its a dirty d they usually is grime all over place but its spot less could eat my dinner under there

not not sure on them mate but the main earth on the gearbox has been know to give problems on the 206's so maybe worth checking that aswell while your at it.

Problem is there's not much room under bonnet to get to any thing and with it been so low to ground it looks like am gonna have to take it sum where with low ramps did think about the gear box earth as this was a problem on a mates cross sum idiot hadn't put it back on might be better just making a new earth up instead would be easier I think

Gonna leave it till the weekend when the new bulbs turn up as I have found a very rusty earth at the back of the passengerside light but iI will need the light out to get to it as its right next to the abs unit with about 4 earths bolted down. Dremel coming out I guess to clean them all up. I also got the auto lights to say turned on on the display unit and chimed I did it again and it didn't do any thing just chimed I'm guessing this earth is the problem and will defo get some grease on top to stop it happening agan. Oh also the tailgate break light is now working as it should again so I'm still thinking there's some damp kicking about the car still as well

Ive read that the fuse boxes can be a real pain in the a**e for damp and corrosion and once they go they are past it and a new/alternative fusebox must be put in...if yours has had this corrosion it might be best to cut your losses and get a fresh full engine side fusebox before you start to get problems with other electrics...rust is a right bitxh once it starts and its best to replace rathwr than treat it...scrap yard job i reckon but not an easy job with all those wires...
