Noticed today a strange noise from the engine, it is only heard when i accelerate from 2k + its like a 'ticking noise' as you accelerate the ticks get faster as well.. hard to explain really. Its fairly quiet but it is slightly worrying Neutral any ideas what this could be?

I'd get used to hearing ticking and tapping from a 206 engine bay especially on start up Sad

it could be the tappets making the noise and they may need to be reset

if there's nothing there ask a mechanic to have a look at your driveshaft bearings or doing it yourself by,

- jack you car up
- spin your wheel slowly and listen for the click
- and if you hear it coming from your driveshaft then thats it
- sometimes you can actualy see the bearings hop so watch the bearings also

Its just the sound of the drive belt,alternator,etc.....its completely normal and just another case of someone looking too hard to find a problem and a post.

i'd say its the infamous ew10 tick, they are known for it at the tappets (a search should bring up some info on it). mine does/did it when warm and revved. from what i recall its nothing major to worry about unless it gets dramatically worse

If it was the tappets/hydraulic lifters it would happen at idle too.
