Searched around and came across these lovely posts:

So I am guessing that as I have fluid in the passenger footwell (not rain water) that my heater matrix is bust!
Im not going to lie it happened a little while back but it didn't seem to affect anything, how much damage have i done?
I still get hot air to the footwell all the vents work and at the correct temp...
I know its hard to say but based on the fluid in the footwell is it more than likely to be the heater matrix? apart from this Eurocarparts what else would I need? (is this going to fit properly)
how can i check if it is the heater matrix without taking it out?
p.s its a 206 GTi 03
Thanks

Check the level of your coolant, if it as it should be then i wouldn't of thought it would be the heater matrix

Ok so coolant is pretty non existent, topped it up for now. So guessing that its the heater matrix....
So replacing the heater matrix anybody know if the part from Euro car parts is going to be a decent fit?

Some people saying that aftermarket is a pain to fit (more so than OEM) but heard that OEM is nearly 100... with a discount this is going to be half the price!

Can't help with fitting the matrix except to recommend buying a Haynes manual.
My other VERY strong recommendation is that you do NOT drive this car with a leaking matrix. You may know already but if you don't this is the same fluid that is keeping your engine cool. If you haven't already there is a very strong risk that low fluid levels will cause a head gasket failure.
The Haynes manual seems to have a reasonable write up on the procedure to remove the heater matrix including a few tips.
