I am trying to help a friend with a plexed 1.4 8v

His car is misfiring, he took it to a garage, had an o2 sensor and coil pack changed. He took it to another garage and they got it diagnosed; injector fault. Replaced but its not fixed anything.

I had a quick look and the alternator is whining like hell. He told me it happened at the same time. Is it possible the alternator could be draining power?

Going to have a proper look Tuesday but any ideas in-front would be great. I will plug it in myself if I can borrow a reader.

Alright Rob?

Was this the clasic injector #4 problem because often the contacts themselves corode on the loom connector so replacing does not necessarily fix it.

Can't see why the alternator could cause this unless it's really very badly seized-up and is causing undue load on the engine.
Look at the aux tensioner for 'maxing-out' or wobbling back and forth.

Also, what about spark-plugs are they OK?

Hi pal, I am checking on in tomorrow now, I don't know which injector is at fault yet but I will find out. I will check the connectors.

That is what I was thinking with the alternator, but possibly a coincidence. I will check it over.

I am guessing the spark plugs will have been checked. But I will have a look to rule it out.
