Last week the comms 2000 unit cable became defective, giving an Air bag fault, so a replacement was sourced through the 'bay. This turned out to be slightly different with a socket missing on the back, so I cut the umbilical cable off the newer one and soldered it in placed of the old one. The soldering was checked and no shorts seen.
After been fitted back to the car, and the battery connected, the horn sounds continuously. The only way to silence it is to disconnect the battery again.
Does anyone had an idea on what could be amiss?
and..
Where is the damn fuse for the horn?
The car is a 2005 206cc 1.6 Allure
Many thanks for looking..

Buy a NEW com 2000 unit, stop messing around trying to bodge 1 together.
Your lucky you didn't fire the drivers airbag of!
Euro car parts sell new Valeo Com units pretty cheap.

Thank you for the reply. I shall give them a bell in the morning because their website does not show the part.
And to the other question, where is the fuse to the horn?

Part is under switches. Although I have a comms 2000 for sale for £50. The rear wash wiper ribbon needs attaching to the board again, as it has come off if you are interested. Everything else works.
The fuse is passenger side fuse box no. 13 I believe.

Again, Thank you for the replies.
Euro Car Parts do not have the part, and have no forecast on its availability.
Tolkienfan001, thank you for the offer. I will mention it to my brother (his GF's car, not mine). A different Comms unit has already been tried, and this brought up a ABS error. Been the hairdressers model, it does not have a rear wash.
The part number required is 96595097XT

Where's that part number from?
According to ECP they have all the Com2000 units in stock for delivery. Without knowing anything about your car, then it's hard to tell you which one you need from them. You need to look at each one and check it's functions eg front fogs, trip computer, auto function etc. They might not have it locally, but they will have it the next day for you

That's NOT an actual Peugeot / Citroen part number, that's just the number you have found on the com unit

From memory, com units are 6242**. Can't be bothered to look how many variants there are, but probably more than 5

Hi,
I phoned them up with the number off the actual unit.
Right then, further I have found that the number from the dealers is 6242.H6, and they want £340ish for it.

Euro car parts will be able to sort you out with a nice new Valeo unit much cheaper then a Peugeot main dealer
Give Euro the Peugeot part number & / or the functions of your current com 2000 unit.

It is Euro Car Parts are saying they do not stock that part.
One has now been sourced, "WITHOUT REAR SCREEN WASH WIPE AND WITH ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM"
Fingers crossed that her car will be on the road again at the weekend, I want 'my' car back
Many thanks for the information, it has been very informative.
