when i turn a sharp left or right i get a loud "tick" noise coming from the rear. i have jacket the car up to check for play in both rear wheels and there is none. what could it be?

Noise can travile. And often throw you out check the front track rod ends

nope diffo from the rear, Dan this could be it? how do i check this? and can the end plates them-self be changed?

That bolt shown mate. Sometimes it can work loose and cause a noise like you mentioned. Check its tight but sometimes they have been known to snap so be careful.

Top lad, this was the problem, tightened up the bolt and the noise is gone.
