Hi guys, I've recently descoverd that the rain sensor has been removed from my 2001 gti, there are 2 wires tucked behind the cover where the preveous owner has cut the sensor off for whatever reason
would it be as simple as buying a working sensor and conecting the wires to get the auto setting on the wipers to work
Any info would be great, cheers

If you have a pre-plex GTi then I have a working sensor and can supply a piece of loom to attach it to.

If the stereo remote stalk is a long stick it's not multiplexed. If it's a fat chunky thing with buttons on it the car is multiplexed.
