Hi Everyone

I have been driving my 206 1.4 GLX for quite a while now but I have encountered a dangerous problem.

I was driving on a dual carriageway at 70mph and sudddenly the car jolted like I ran over a small bump also the engine light came on but it went off straight away. WTF then after half a mile it happened again but this time the car was slowing down (engine cut off) and I had no control, It was hard to steer because the power steering must've went off but luckily the was no accidents. After I started the car up again and the same thing kept happening again and again after a mile or so. I finally reached home. The next day on the way to work it happened again but this time 20 minutes into the journey but on the way back nothing happened????

The car starts to jolt kinda like when you stall but for a short period of time, then it keeps repeating until it decides to turn everything off like a kill switch, after turning the key to get the ignition started again, the car starts to over rev at 2000 rpm and then while your in gear it revs at 3000 rpm when your not even applying gas, NOW MY PEUGEOT HAS CRUISE CONTROL LOOOOOOL

I researched this problem and it seems many other 206 owners have encountered the same problem.

I would really appreciate if anyone could provide me a solution that wont break the bank Very Happy

Regards
Sleeky

The cut out problem never really seemed to get a definitive answer to what caused it, but I'd look at the usual culprits such as the coil pack

PSA Peugeot / Citroen fixed the cutting out problem years ago.

Several ECU software updates, Bouricord coil pack, coil pack wiring mod, ecu connector rework, map sensor replaced, BSI & wiring checked & BSI software downloads is all I can remember for this issue.

I just kept repeatedly throwing it back at the main dealer till they finally fixed the problem under the Peugeot 3 year manufacturers warranty, I know I took it in 23 times for warranty work for several different issues in year 3 Laughing
