I don't get it.

Why do people erase fault-codes if they did not solve the problem which caused them to come-up in the first place.
Often without even noting-down what the codes were.

Oh, well there goes that EEPROM.

I've only ever had the diagnostic light come on once with ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT.

I read the fault code, found & fixed the problem that has caused the code to be logged, tested the car to check the fault was fixed then I erased the code.

I did the same at work yesterday with a forklift, diagnosed the problem, replaced the faulty part, tested the truck then cleared the error log.

Fault codes are there to point you in the right direction, just putting the light out without fixing the fault is called BODGING.

I've had a jerky 206. it would only happen when i was maintaining a consistent speed, acceleration was flawless.

I changed my plugs which solved the problem for a short time, several weeks later i was on the motorway and the jerking came back very BADLY to the point where i lost power and broke down on the hard shoulder.

I had snapped my cam belt! woohoo!

So one new cam belt kit, 8 new valves, new head gasket later, no more jerking!

I had a theory it was the head gasket, that the compression in the cylinder head was being lost through any leaks and when the belt when,t obviously it got worse and the gasket got totally ***ed.

or it could of been a failing cam belt...? not sure if this would cause jerking though.

EDIT; just noticed the 206 is sold, but this may help someone in the future with similar problems.
