i just feel the brakes are the only thing that let the car down now. I have changed the brake fluid but to be honest they didnt make any difference, they just need more feel; bite. |
That's down to the right hand drive design.
I wouldn't mind to have a go in a left hand drive 206 & see what the brake feel is like with the pedal directly connected to the master cylinder & not through a transfer linkage. |
I have driven 1000's miles in both ABS and non-ABS 1.4i 206 LHD.
My non-ABS became brilliant, absolutely rock solid brake pedal and good stopping distance when I replaced disks and pads with Brembo.
I always assumed that the Mrs. ABS one had floppier brakes because of standard parts, but maybe ABS has something to do with it.
Also, I understand ABS model needs to be bled using PP2000 idealy, which I have never got round to doing as I didn-t have the interface when replacing the brake fluid back then.

My partner has a 52 plate 1.4 hid 206 and her brakes feel better then mine, doing clean and put new seals in the spare front brakes i have and fit them with set grove discs see if that improves things.
I have never looked at the rear brakes, so perhaps worth cleaning out and checking too.
