Finally got the 206 going as a daily driver after some minor work at the garage.

When driving tonight I noticed a small problem - When travelling along at a steady 60mph on a dual carriage way it was making a small whistle noise - This whistle noise increased in volume as I floored the accelerator - Didnt seem linked to speed and only happened when driving quickly.

Does this sound Like an air intake issue? My old clio used to whistle as it had a hole in the air pipe - Haven't had a chance to look yet - does the 206 have an air intake pipe that is liable to cracking?

Thanks in advance for any help!

OH! sorry - its a 1999 206 1.1 L on 95000 miles Smile

I have checked the door seals (both are fine), windows are all shutting fine, bonnet isn't wonkey, no snapped bodywork......

I checked the air intake (took the air box off and pipe) couldn't see any cracks or holes... unless its leaking from around the plastic joints? do the air pipes usually have some sealant around the joins?

Its really annoying now! only seems to do it when hot, and increases with acceleration press not necessarily speed. No point sending it to the garage as it doesn't always do it.

I kinda want this fixed - taking it on a booze cruise in 8 weeks. any ideas are greatly appreciated!
