Hello,
I made a topic about a year ago on my 206, love the car but would like it to run smoothly. The engine judders and the needle roams around, no matter the revs. I've cleaned the VVT, MAF, air filter, changed plugs, tried a new coil pack & had the codes read - nothing.
It occasionally doesn't seem to want to start either, have to start it for a good 5 seconds before it lumbers to life. It seems to be overfueling, or at least I smell a strong gas odor when started after a night's rest but that's quite random too. When I try to keep constant revs on neutral the revs go up and down like +- 100 accompanied with what sounds like a misfire or something - I'm not sure. Odd klinging and clonking when the revs try to go up and then they cease as the revs drop. Doesn't sound at all like heat shield or exhaust rattle.
As I changed the tyres I noticed the underside was very messy, glistening with some liquid, on the front left. Also, the engine has had the rocker cover gasket changed because it had a leak(prior to my ownership), but the black plastic part that connects to the aluminium part seems a bit warped, and on the front there's bits of gasket peeling off. Is it supposed to be like that?
I've uploaded some pictures of the cover and leaky bits if any of you might know what's going on.
