I have a Gti (138) and I've noticed if the car has been recently use, its doesnt fire up as well as usual. In the cold/normal weather it only needs to turn over 1-3 times and it fires no problem. If it's just been used or the weather is hot it might take 3-7 turns. Once it fires it runs fine. I just didn't know if there is an under lying issue that could be causing this or if it's to be expected?
Many thanks

Do you smell fuel aroma when the weather is hot?if you do then I guess the evaporation from the fuel system is not well processed in the charcoal tank which is located under the driver front wing,OR your canister solenoid valve is not working.
these 2 items, make the car start easier specially in the hot weather, because the evaporation level get higher, which make the engine choked if they are not working well.

It smelt a bit fumey this afternoon actually but didn't think anything of it. It had however been in full sun most of the day.
Thank you for your help, if one of those is the problem then I suppose it's not too bad and I won't start fiddling around with things. I was just worried it could be the start of a bigger problem!
