Hi,

I've been having trouble with my Peugeot 206 recently. Last Saturday I was picking up a friend around 2/3am, and my car started to just cut out. Electrics would go off, the car would stall and the airbag lights would be shown on the dashboard. Sometimes it would start again, and it would be like as if it hadn't happened.

But driving back home my car stopped completely. Everything went off (including power steering) and my car grinded to a halt. Left it sitting with everything off for a good 5 minutes before trying to start the engine again.

Thinking it was the battery, I got my friend Darren round to jump the car and charge up the battery when the car was running. It worked the first time, but everything still cut out when I took it on a test drive (literally after 20ft)

My Dad tried to have a look at it yesterday, and it wouldn't even start when it was being jump started.

*PS. The clock/etc resets to 0 after it cuts out.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the earth strap, follow the negative connection on the battery, should lead down and bolt on to the gearbox.

Hi, it would be better to replace the whole wire as the solder would most likely snap after a while of being in the elements.
