Right just wanted some info/input on an engine conversion, I have a 206 1.4 lx and I just brought my brothers 206 off him he wrote it off so it's not driveable it's the 136 bhp model, I was wondering if I got a 180 engine could I use the gearbox suspension etc off if his only thing that isn't salvageable is the rear axle, any input would be greatly appreciated

Total waste of time & money.
If you want a GTI 180 just go & buy one, there cheap enough now.

I'm doing the conversion as a project time won't be wasted as I enjoy working on cars, just need to know if I can use the ecu wiring loom gearbox etc, and anything I might need to buy

The 180 brakes are different to the 138 brakes. The 180 brakes are bigger.
The rear axle, manifold + exhaust, air filter housing are all different between the 180 and 138 as well. As are the seats, interior trim parts, rooflining, wing mirrors, side indicators, stereo setup, carpet mats, alloys, ESP and probably many more things I have missed.

It will be less of a ball ache to literally strip it down to a bare shell and build it up with everything from the GTI as appose to trying to make things communicate / work with existing parts.
