Can you pull out from the sunvisor, the piece that it rotates on when you flip it down ?
I tried a pair of mole grips but didn't budge.
It is already off the car.

doesnt really make much sense, can you pleas elaborate?
At a guess you are wanting to remove the sun visors, if yes there is a small screw on the rotating base which once undone will mean the sun visor just falls away,

It is the piece in the corner of the picture. It is snapped and the replacement visor I have is the wrong colour so I was just hoping to swap this piece over if possible..

I like your diagrams. I agree, it feels like the rod is securely held.

in the end I just used the replacement I had. The different shade of grey is not noticeable once it is in the car. I might hacksaw the old one to see how it goes together though.
