Strange problem start to happen with my 206, and it happens occasionally. When starting the car, it dies like if there is a weakness with the battery. I took the car to the garage, and they suggest to change the battery although the battery was changed one year ago. After one day, the problem returned again, when you turn the key the 2 clicks, and all lights are enabled on your dashboard, then you are attempting now to start the engine, it act like if there is an electricity weakness and there is no even a sign for starting . It does not rotate at all.

After two trials, it will start normally.

What is this please?

My car is more than 10 yrs old. it is 8v 1.4, 2000.

Put the driver’s window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all
equipment is switched off.

Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the
ignition.

Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait
15 seconds.

Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do
not open doors.)

Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

Switch on the ignition and check system’s functionality.

Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

Remove key open & close door test central locking system.

Start the engine and complete the system's check

I phoned my electric guy, I told him about the symptom, and he is suspecting the same as you suggested. Will investigate the issue in Monday and keep you updated.

Could well be the earth strap to the engine?
Its a cheap thing to test for and eliminate and it could certainly be at fault..
You must be very carefull doing this but to test it while being completely responsible for your own actions just wait until the problem occurs next then take a jump lead (only one side of the two sided jump lead is used here)

clamp one end of the lead to a clean and conductive metal part of the engine block rhen take the other end and attach it to the earth side if your cars battery..

now, making sure that the leads clamps are well placed and clamped in place with everyone there clear of the engine bay try to turn the car over and start the car as normal.....

If the car starts then it is your earth strap that needs either renewing or needs cleaning up at its contacts to get a proper earth connection on the earth strap and onto the engine from the body or the battery...

If you have checked the contacts on the lead and the battery and your satisfied that the earth lead is not at fault you must keep looking elsewhere...but at least youve eliminated the earth strap possibility...

Hamed have you put it in 1st gear with engine off rock it backwards and forwards and then try starting
as it could be the solenoid on the starter motor it sounds and feels like a dead battery.
Just have fixed this on the wifes car and it was the starter motor, the battery is still the original 11 years old and still sparky.
