Hi guys,
Tonight I was driving into my garden at low speed. The engine randomly cut out. There was no beep, and I checked the battery and the terminals are not loose.
Over the past month, sometimes when idle, the car revs up and down a bit on its own as if it's about to cut out but it doesn't. When it cut out tonight the battery light and handbrake light came on. It started straight back up though!
Any ideas? Could it just be that the idle control valve needs a cleaning?
Cheers, J.

Yep - just had this on my 1.4 Quicksilver over the past week.
Get some carb cleaner, and spray it onto the ICV, then dry/clean with a clean cloth. Should be right as rain after.
Also, it may be worth cleaning the butterfly valve on the throttle body, however I didn't need to for fixing my problem.
