Hi all i thought i would get a project thread started since i am on building me something special Very Happy
I bought a 206 GTi 138 a couple of weeks back as a car to just get me about but to be honest i was very impressed with the way it drives and the power delivery of the car so decided to keep it and do a little work on it. The overall condition of the car is very good for the age and mileage with only a couple of parking dents on the driver side.

I bought the car with this spec:

Lowered 30mm
Morette headlights with H7 HID kit (Very poor lighting at night!)
Tinted windows all round
Wind deflectors
Decat
Straight through Longlife stainless steel exhaust
BCM DIA induction kit
Espace front splitter (will be removed as i hate it!)

Since then i have fitted a set of 15" Pro race 1.2s and i cant decide weather or not to fit my BMC CDA filter or to just leave the DIA one on???

Anyway my plan is to bolt on a nice turbo since i have noticed there isnt many people on here with a turbo 206.

Parts i have bought now:

TD04 T13 turbo from a subaru
38mm external wastgate with screamer pipe
GTi180 manifold what will be getting cut and extended for the turbo to sit above the gearbox
Fuel pressure reg
406 8v turbo ECU
GTi180 engine cover

Still a lot of parts to buy yet but hoping to have the car running boost by christmas at the latest. This is how the car stands at the minute.

406 ecu?! Seriously why the f***?!

You have to run a standalone or a driver for the fifth injector!

Not really, you can run a mapped 406 sri ecu with out any issues. i know of a couple of local lads running them, 1 on a 106 gti turbo and another on a 205 gti6 turbo. if i decide to go for more power in the future i will buy a vems ecu but for the time being there is no need.

Nice big intercooler and pipe work along with the TD04 here ready for everything else turning up

With it being forged induction I cant really see a 180 inlet making a big amount of difference to be honest. DP engineering used the 138 inlet as well

No not really, just what ever it costs to get it up and running. Not planning on going mental tho I would say £1500-2000 I would budget since I already had a couple bits lying around

I just see more agro than its worth personally! The cost of mega squiirts or drivers now a days is so cheap, there isnt much point using old hat. But it is your car so feel free

Just a subject on the 138 inlet, they are incredibly restrictive so I would recommend a change

Id be looking to see if the Mini Cooper S/207 GTi engine can be made to fit. Engine will go in but the clever bit is getting the engine management to work.

On those engine which don't even use the throttle body to control air flow into the engine it's a difficult job.

They are different to normal engines. They use the BMW valvetronic system and VVT as well. So a normal standalone ECU wouldn't have the right outputs to control the engine.
