Dear Peugeot community
Car 206 Diesel 51 plate

Hoping for help/advice with the problem below,

The car starts first time, recently had a new battery fitted, but after around 10 seconds the engine cuts out.
I try to re start the car, engine whirls but doesn't take. I repeat this 3-4 times and then the car starts, no further problems are experienced until the car is left for 12hrs+ and then the problem repeats

I have very little technical knowledge of cars so any help/suggestions would be gratefully appreciated

well it would be be better to have a fault code read before any suggestion,but from what you Said,I would say you have a problem with the fuel pump or Fuel Pump pressure sensor/s,that makes the fuel cuts off after a while.

Start by getting the fault codes read.

Which one of the 3 diesel engine's that could be fitted to a 51 plate 206 are we dealing with then? 1.9 diesel? 1.4 HDI? 2.0 HDI? Knowing what engine we are dealing with helps a lot.
