Hi I was driving to work the other day when my 206 Gti 140 02 reg decided it had enough and broke down when I tryyed to start the car it was just turning over flat so I thought the cambelt had snapped when I towed it home I took cover off cambelt put it in gear and jacked it up turned the engine by hand and watched the belt the belt is not snapped and all the teeth are still on so I put a compression tester on and they is no compression registering has anyone got any ideas I though maybe the belt might of slipped ?

Have you tried pinning the pulleys to see if it lines up. Although if youve got no compression on any of the cylinders youve lost nothing by taking the head off and having a look.

I would say you would be damn lucky for the head to be any good if the bottom ends f****d. Take the cam covers off and have a look at the state of the cam lobes and can journals. But again you haven't lost anything over than your time it takes to whip the head of the spare block to have a look.
