Hi guys,

I've just bought my first car - bright red W reg 1.1. It's the most basic model.

Now, my issue is it only came with 1 key, so I'm looking to get another cut. Does anyone know if this'll be as simple as popping in to Timpson's and asking them to cut another one?

Cheers,

Db

Welcome to the forum.

You will need to get the key cut properly by a shop that does car keys, as you will need an immobiliser chip programming too

Not sure if Peugeot still sell pre plex remotes.
Your best bet is to either go to an auto locksmith who can clone the original,
or get a second hand fob (2 types Deadlocking and non-deadlocking) with blank blade from ebay, then find someone with PP2000 to program a virgin transponder chip and pair the remote to the car. You'll need the security code for this.

The only other option is to go into a dealer and ask them for a new key. They will supply it already cut using the keycode, and then you'll just need to pay to have it set up to the car. I wouldn't expect much change from £120 for this though.

Timpsons charge £40 quid for sorting a key out. This will be a basic one without a button for central locking.

I would find out if anyone has peugeot planet around near you. That way you could pay them a small amount of cash for them to pair the immobiliser chip to your car.

Or contact lee and he'll post you a chip pre-programmed.

Early keys come in different versions so you have to get one that matches the original ... check the circuit board, etc. or it won't programme via pp2000.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
