hi all ok so i went to replace my front brake discs but the the two torx screws at the back wont come off wont budge at all any ideas of how break the tension on them? without damaging them.

Are you sure it's a torx fitting and not an allen key fitting.

impact driver or soak them in release spray and heat them up with a bowtorch after 24hrs is the best way really if the worse comes to the worse and a last resort drill the heads and then once the discs are off grips on the left over threads to remove and replace

Morning, you might have solved this now but this may help: m.youtube.com/watch?v=...ature=plpp I ended up drilling the middle only part way, then hammering in a wider flat head screw driver on a 3/8". Cause it went in further it was less likely to slip. Oh and FYI got 4 new screws from Peugeot for £1 i think Cheers, Richard.

my old citroen had the same setup that required a t55 socket, if you have a half decent ratchet it will come off without using heat, if the torx insert has crumbled away, use a pipe wrench or a set of stillys, i done it thinking it would never break free but it will, p.s use plusgas
