Hiya i have a 1999 206 i have lost the remote key but i do have the spare key which is not a remote therefore i cant activate my alarm or remotely lock and unlock the doors, and have no spare key anymore. I have the key code that the car came with, i went into peugeot and they said that they do not do the remote keys for my car anymore. Is there anyone that knows any place that would be able to help me or how to get another one???
Thank you.

Hi nope, its difficult to say the least. I tried and then gave up. Personally get another key cut same as you have now.

It's going to be harder as you have lost the key. There are two or three different circuit boards and I've come to the conclusion if you can find a matching one it might reprogram via PP2000 with a new immobiliser chip.

I know the one i got can start the car but not operate the remote ... looking at the two keys the circuit boards are slightly different.

What also doesn't help is a lot of cars don't come with the same ecu/bsi units as they have been swapped out so don't match the VIN codes, etc.

I guess swapping out ecu/bsi/locks is one option ...

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Check which circuit board yours came with using service box, and then try and source a second hand fob and board on ebay. Blank blades are readily available on ebay too.
Get a virgin transponder chip, I have one left for pre-plex and charge £7.50 delivered.
Find a nice friendly member nearby who has PP2000 using this map and ask them to pair the remote and transponder to the car for you for beer tokens.

You've got the advantage over most people because you already have the security code. Some dealers charge £30 for this alone.

Just wondering if your insurance would be void, say you had an accident or your car got stolen say, is this a grey area or do you have to inform the insurance company of the situation, just interested if anyone knows the answer.

I know you can remove any old remotes using PP2000, not sure about the chip though.

It depends on if it has deadlocking or not.
Simplest way is to enter your VIN and then search ebay for the part number or at least before you buy, you confirm the part number with the seller.

6552 ZW - DOOR SAFETY CATCH TRANSMITTER - EXCEPT CENTRAL DEAD LOCKING

or

6552 ZX - DOOR SAFETY CATCH TRANSMITTER - CENTRAL DEAD LOCKING

Yours is multiplexed, the op has a perplexed system.

Multiplexed fobs are still available from the dealer.
