What would you expect the oil consumption to be on one of these? Its a 2000 model with 97k on it.
Also the oil gauge seems to be lower when started and then if i do a small journey and check it again it goes right to the top?

Take it you're using the dash displayed oil level indicator.
These go faulty from time to time and shouldn't be relied on.
With my car, I can move it 2 feet on the drive and it goes from full to empty because of a slight incline. I don't trust it and prefer to check the level using the dipstick.

Just reading up and it seems the digital one is a common fault, Mine is the one where the oil temp gauge is used as the oil level gauge on start up, Is this prone to being faulty also?
