Hi,
I have a 2005 206 sw 1.4hdi that has starting squeeking from the o/s rear area.
It occurs when the car is staionary when you rock it or when moving over bumpyish surfaces, it probably is still there at higher speeds but it cant be heard over engine/ road noise.
I changed the shock absorber but it was still there.
A friend suggested it could be a bearing in the axle?
Any other suggestions?

Sounds like rear axle...

Mine does the same when the handbrake is applied but not when it is released (so probably a squeaky brake component) if yours is doing it even with the brake released I'd bet on axle Sad

When my 306 (with knackered axle) made noises most was when moving slowly (so not much engine noise) over bumpy ground. Creaked like a haunted house
