Hi,
as described, after i have been driving for a short while the car starts to give off a rubber like burning smell.
Its only been going on about a week but has got worse.
I have a 2000 1.4 Roland Garros Auto.
Any help would be rather helpful.
thanks in advance
Karl.

Don't suppose you have had a new clutch fitted recently, can smell a bit whilst bedding in.
Check front and back brakes after a run out, touch the drums and calipers and see if excessive heat is coming off any, you will know if any are sticking by compareing.

Check what Dresden says, also check your aux belt as it could have stripped a tooth

It's Automatic
Well make sure that your cooling fans are working, because it might be over heating causing this smell.

Make sure nothing is touching the exhaust, especially the hand brake cables

have you had an oil change recent ? sometimes a bit of oil gets onto the exhaust manifold and gets burnt off.
are your oil and coolant levels staying constant ?
