Hi,

sorry but I'm sure this is a very simple problem.

My son has a 1997 1.6 206 and the exhaust has just broken.
It looks like the joint between the front box (is that a cat?) and the down pipe from the manifold has come apart, but it almost looks like it can be just pushed back in and clamped together with something. There doesn't seem to be any kind of clamp attached so I'm guessing this has fallen off at some point.

I guess my question is: is this something I can buy separately? He really needs the car running and we are all skint right now!

You can probably tell I have no idea how these things work.
Sorry if this is a stupidly easy question, but we all have to start somewhere!
Any help gratefully received Smile

yes you should just be able to buy a hose clip that fits and will hold.

If it's just the clamp that's corroded, should be a simple fix. I got a new clamp from the dealer a couple of weeks ago for just over a fiver. It's not your standard U-bolt, which makes it a bit harder to source.

Great thanks! I'll nip down to the local dealer.
