Can anyone tell me what the compression should be on a 2001 1.4 8v petrol engine. Mine read no1 70, no2 75, no3 60, no4 60. When put a teaspoon of oil down each bore they read, no1 105, no2 100, no3 100, no4 100.

Was the throttle fully open on the test?
As it seems all low. But they are within 10 percent so technically its classified as okay

The compression ration is 10.5:1. Pug never disclosed the compression figures. as long as all is within 2 bars any more indicates a fault. my manual says as a GUIDE any pressure below 10 bars can be considered less than healthy Compression should build up quickly

Throttle was fully open and they reached the max reading stright away on first turn of the key. My haynes manual says 10 bar which is double my readings, i know they are all well within 2 bar of each other, but the readings seem so low.
