I'm having problems with my indicators. When I switch them on they run maybe two or three times and then cut out. when they short out the dash/radio display lights dim out. if I wiggle the stalk the indicator returns to normal for a few more tic and then it happens again.
I've read about this problem and a multitude of ways to solve it but I'm concerned it may be more than just replacing the stalk.
Any ideas where to start would be great...
ps. I'm a car repair novice but up for giving it a go seeing as i'm being quoted half the price of the car to fix.
Cheers

Well it could be the stalk,or it could be the indicator relay inside the BSI unit, which can be replaced if you know to deal with circuit boards.
Or maybe you have a short circuit in one of the indicators which cause this problem.

Thanks for the post Timon
Would a short circuit affect both left and right indicators? The problem occurs in both directions...

if the short is with the ground then yes it would. i believe that there is an issue with the stalks. stalk wobble iirc. That could be your issue. im sure someone else could confirm this for you
