I get a very very quick single beep and sometimes a flash of a message "abs fault" (literally milliseconds) when I start the car.

It only seems to happen I the cold/wet as it disappears when its dry.

So I want to get at the sensors and give em a clean as I'm assumg its a dirty sensor.

I've got the haynes manual to hand but want to double check..

Do the abs sensors have any of the hydraulics plumbed into them?
Ie if I completely remove the sensor, I dont want fluid from the hydraulic abs system pouring out!

May be a silly question, but I just want to double check.

Also, if anyone has a pic of an abs sensor so I know what I'm looking for it would be appreciated!

Don't think its possible to clean them, and there all electrical. If the car drives fine without ABS faults, i'd leave it or get the car scanned.

No they can be cleaned and examined (as well as the teeth) very easily.
You can also unplug from the harness and measure them etc.

ahh ok, may give it a go then... haynes manual seems to show it as fairly straightforward so worth getting under the skirt at least.

Had zero issues with the brakes/abs and had no abs warning light or any other lights pop up apart from the occasional blip when 1st turning the key.

Check if any of the ABS rings on the driveshafts are split.
