Hi all hope you can help. Just joined up and hope you all can help me.

Just bought a 206 1.4 2000 petrol 3 door and i have now identified a central locking problem. I hadn't noticed it on purchase because the fault is a bit intermittant.

Ok here goes;

1. The drivers door has been changed in the past, manual open/close does not work.

2. I can only lock/unlock the car manually with the key in passenger side.

3. Central locking is activated manually or remote and both doors lock/unlock.

Now...having locked the car remotely the car 'unlocks itself on both doors after about 20mins.

locking the car manually with key in passenger door locks both doors but again after a few hours now the car 'unlocks' itself.

Very frustrating and i know it may be a multiple of things (had a pug 406coupe before) and i know central locking is a biggy on a 206 having googled it.

Appreciate any advice.

Welcome to 206info ,since the driver's door been changed before,I start from the central lock actuator on that door,try a new one,that might solve your problem.

I'll have a look thanks.

I was wondering, can you physically turn a door lock withs Sible? Pug key or is that impossible? Wondering whether they forgot to change them over from old door. I can turn mine. TIA.

Predictive text, I'll rephrase that. I can turn lock with key in drivers door , can I assume locks were swapped over?

The lock barrel is not connected with the function of the central lock actuator,you are lucky they have swapped the lock barrel when the door was changed,other wise you will not be able to turn the lock with your drivers door.
