Hi guys. Another problem it seems
Since my last refuel, I have noticed a strong smell of petrol when I first start the engine and pull away, it also does it if I pull away fast at a roundabout or junction etc... I don't mean speed freak fast, just putting my foot down so I don't make the traffic behind me have to slow (a pet hate of mine).
Any ideas...the petrol gauge isn't showing a loss either so I don't think there's a leak?

Did you brim the tank?
Is the smell stronger inside the car, under the bonnet, from the exhaust or by the back wheel? Obviously if it's smelling more under acceleration, the last 3 will be difficult to check.

Check underneath your car after it's been parked, it might give you an idea where it's coming from.
Failing that lift the bonnet and rev the engine and see if you can see any leaks in the bay.
If you did brim the tank, it could be that some of its leaked out of the filler cap.

No brimming, no leakage under the car and nothing visible under the bonnet either.

Ok update.....its a leaking injector. The fuel rod has lifted and although there is movement it wont go back and clip up, I think the seal has broken. I have ordered a set of '0' rings and will replace the lot. Shanksies pony for now though as I cant drive it with fuel leaking over a hot engine.
