1st thing to do it check fuses and bulbs. Make sure none are blown.

Bulbs are easy to change, just open the boot, feel behind the light for a winged nut, unscrew it and push the light unit out from inside making sure you steady it on the outside to avoid either damaging the unit or the paintwork. Unclip the multiblock electrical connector. You should be able to see the backplate which just clips on once the unit is out. Change bulb, refit back plate, reconnect connector and then refit unit into the car making sure that the spike locates into the hole in the rear wing. Very easy to break these. Tighten wing nut and replace any trim you're displaced.

Remember that on both pre-plex and multi-plex the hi level brake light and the N/S brake light are on the same fused circuit, and the O/S brake light is on it's own fused circuit. So you can rule out the fuse for the N/S and you can also rule out the parts that are common to both circuits.
