I have just bought a 206 after owning Vauxhalls for the last few years, just noticed a few problems with it. first problem is the there is a rattle, banging sound coming from the front when turning. the second problem is every time I brake there's a hissing sound coming from the passenger foot well. do any of you lot no what they could be.

thanks

Banging sounds like drop links I had mine done very cheap and you could do it yourself. Hissing might be a snake under the footwell mat.. Can't help on that one mate

The banging could be any number of things. Drop links are probably the cheapest and easiest to replace, ARB bushes could be on their way out - another easy & cheap job. Other things that could be causing the banging - Top suspension bearings, broken spring & driveshaft. Unfortunately there is no easy way apart from pulling everything apart to find out what's causing it.

If it's any consolation, I've had the same issue for a few months so it can't be serious.

As for the hissing, again could be any number of things, I'm thinking air con leak? Radiator leak?. Get a mate to put his foot on the brake and see if you can get a more precise location.
