Had a good day today.... fitted new discs and pads all round on the GT and it now has tax and insurance.... Mrs Macj took it for a run home from the workshop and all seems fine. She stopped at Co op for some "bits" and when she came out it wouldn't start again..... quick call to me and I was there with service van.... clump the starter with hammer and job done. New starter ordered :D....... very pleased she didn't get broken
Will get a picture up soon with her rally sister

Glad to hear it's been saved from the scrap man. Too many decent cars that just need a bit of work are being scrapped these days.

haha this reminds me of my uncles old celica he loved the car and for about 2 months whenever the starter jammed he would whack it with a hammer to get it to go. One time he didnt have the hammer and everyone thought he was going mad as he started to whack the car starter with a can of baked beans he had just bought. lol

If it works ....hey
New starter fitted today and a few little niggles ironed out. Central locking was bouncing so I have disabled and its on manual for now till new solenoids are found.
Fuel light has come on so it must belong to the wife now
