hi there just bought a 206 gti 138, im just wondering what are the must do's with this engine, what breaks common and what do people uprate straight away to prevent problems with these cars, im also after a 206 gti 4 branch manifold, anyone got any for sale?

Not exactly an engine that just breaks. Would recommend a full service and cambelt/waterpump change if you dont know the history though.

I think engine quite reliable... best to have your car major service including gearbox oil change. when I got mine I did diagnose using peugeot planet 2000, clear the fault first..test drive and see if any problem detected,hence you can easily find the problem and save cost too.
