Hi guys, I've had the engine management light on (came on Saturday) and is running on less power, I guessed it was misfiring. The fault on the screen says 'Anti Pollution Fault' so I took it to a near garage and had them run their diagnostics which came back with fault P1340 Ignition Failure Cylinder 4. Has anyone else had this problem? and what did they do to cure it? I was going to change the plugs to see if this solves it. Also... If I'm looking down into my engine bay. from left to right which is cylinder 4?

Cheers for any help.

Liam

P1340 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
www.206info.co.uk/Foru...c/t=34915/

Generic readers aren't always reliable for manufacturer specific codes.

Cylinder 4 is the timing belt end on a Peugeot.

Hi macca1411

Thanks for the reply, so would you recommend the timing belt changed?

So, even though on his screen it said 'P1340 Ignition Failure Cylinder 4' your pretty certain it's the timing belt?

Cheers
Liam

I wouldn't change the timing belt unless it's due for a change. First of all find someone with PP2000 to do a scan on the car. You will get more details on the fault. PP2000 map. If no one near you has PP2000, then go to another garage for a second scan.

What engine is in the car? That might give someone a clue as to what to look for. I'll take a guess it's a 16v

Macca didn't say timing belt ... he said no4 is "timing belt end" .. he suggested it MIGHT be the Camshaft Position Sensor B

Having said that to change the sensor MIGHT mean changing the belt and idlers/tensioners.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

I changed the plugs last night. Put some NGK plugs in and its running perfect. I just got to get the engine management light reset and hope it stays off now.

After a number of successful restarts some lights switch themselves off. Does the Peugeot for this fault code?
Morris 1000, Austin 1100, Escort Mk2, Fiat Mirafiori, Alfa 33, Alfa GT Junior, Alfasud, Alfetta GTV (2x), Alfa 164 3.0 V6, Alfa 164 2.0, Alfa 75 V6, Alfa 156 2.4 (diesel remapped 200bhp), Alfa 147 GTA (3.6 295bhp), Alfa 159 (diesel remapped 245bhp 300ft.lbs @ 2500rpm)
Why isn't my daughter an Alfaholic?
