By cutting out and restarting, I take it you don't mean it dies completely to a stop and then does a Christine and restarts by itself without having to turn the key.
Is there any particular time that it's cutting out, cornering, braking, certain speeds?
I'd start by checking all the electrical connections under the bonnet, including the earthing points. Can't really be of much more help as no idea what engine is in the car or even what fuel it's running on

yes it dies completely and then restarts itself. it tends t do it when slowing down, breaking. but lately its started to die completely and have to turn the key to turn it back on. Again its as im slowing down, breaking, cornering, its started to do it a bit more lately.
its a petrol car and ive recently stopped using supermarket petrol as ive been told that that could be a problem.
i will pass your advice onto my dad. many thanks

Does it cut out when you press the clutch pedal in to change gears, and then restart when the pedal comes back up again?
If so, give this a try: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...c/t=46523/
