Hi guys, two weeks ago my 2005 1.1 8v with 49000 miles misfired twice on my way home from work, i changed tge spark plugs the next day and it seemed to run fine but sounding a little rough, but yesterday the eml lights came on and noise got worse, only haooens when i am accelerating/speeding up and stops nce a get to a constant speed (eg 30, 50mph)
Plugged in my diagnostic scanner (ebay £20 special lol) and it showed four codes
P1340, code not in my book
P0606 twice! Book says : ecm/pcm processor
P0204, Injector circuit open cylinder 4
Any ideas if these could be related?

Well as far as I know, the fault code P1340 is usually for Anti-pollution related, which is caused by Injector 4 stopped, which make the car runs on 3 cylinder, which explains the rough sound of your engine,so you can make sure if it's faulty,by reading the resistance of the 4th injector when cold, and when hot,it should be 15.0/1/2 ohms .

P1340 Camshaft position sensor B circuit Malfunction. This could be a faulty sensor or even the timing being out
The P0606 sounds as if the ECU could be failing
The causes of a P0204 engine light code could be any of the following: Bad injector. This is usually the cause of this code but doesn't rule out the possibility of one of the other causes. Open circuit in the wiring to the injector. Short in the wiring to the injector. Failing ECU
Finding someone close by with PP2000 might be an option to do a more in depth scan. You could start by checking the timing hasn't slipped and that the injector isn't faulty and then move on from there.

thanks for the replies, glad i signed up here
Car is going in for its timing belt next week anyway so that should narrow that one down.
ECU failing? that cant be goo d:/ possible a loose connection etc?
how exactly do i read the resistance of them? i was planning on taking them out and checking them.
hmm don't really know anyone with a peugeot never mind a pp2000, they are all corsa drivers haha

next problem:
i had a spare hour in work this morning so decided to check what injectors my car has, took the air pipe off, coil, etc, got to the last torx head bolt (at the spark plugs) for the fuel rail and it is already shredded :/ looks as though someone has had a go at this before but now i have no way of getting the fuel rail off! i cant see anyway of the injectors coming out without this.

There are lots of ways to get damaged bolts out from using a hammer and chisel (not for plastic partys!) to spot welding something to the head of the old bolt and then turning that. What solution fits your situation I can't directly advise because I haven't had a 1.1 apart. Don't worry someone will know how to get this bolt out.
Regards the codes - unless they are dated I would ignore them as you don't know how old they are. My principle is always clear the old codes. drive the car until the fault is repeated and instantly re-read the codes. You can then be far more confident that the codes are related to this defect rather than something that happened months or years ago.

You can check the injectors using a voltmeter :),and not sure if your engine got a cam position sensor or not,but check the injectors first, and work from there.

cheers kandlbarrett, my mates got an 'easy-out' so ill give that a try over the weekend hopefully, and one of the issues i haven't mentioned is it wont let me erase the codes so must be something that is happening continuously i think.
A18NHH its a memoscan u480, had it for a while now and its never let me down, its not the greatest but does the job.
where would i place the voltmeter? i have seen people taking them out and using a spare battery is this the best and easiest way? i dont think it has one either, i have taken electrical connections off and cleaned them etc, one of the p0606 codes has went away but still one there
cheers guys
