Cheers all,
Can you help me where to find the oil level sensor location on the 1600 16v engine?? I need to verify if it needs replacement since the oil level display on the instrument panel shows dashes only (------) and not the usual blocks although the dipstick indicates oil level full?? Please post photos if possible
Many thanks

The oil level indicator can be very eratic, i would sugest testing first, by parking the car on flat ground with the engine off, (of course) for ten minutes handbook sugestion, then seeing if it then reads correctly.
The only time you have real problems would be if the dashes are flashing.

It could be the known bug in the BSI software. Try a reboot first, failing that, it would be a trip to the dealers for a software update.
The sensor is located just to the left of the oil filter (visible from top)
