Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

Does the 206 (52 reg) have a metallic/heat-reflective windscreen? And, if so, is the area around the rear-view mirror okay to put a Severn TAG?

All the information I'm finding says that, if the car has a metallic windscreen, that the TAG needs to go in the reserved area around the rear-view mirror, which is usually marked with black dots. My car doesn't have these dots. The only black dots are around the very edge of the windscreen.

Checked the handbook - there's nothing in there about the type of windscreen. I presume it does have a metallic one, and does have a non-metallic area around the mirror, and it just isn't marked because it is an older car.

Any confirmation of this would be greatly appreciated (particularly if it comes today, as I need to use the TAG for work tomorrow! So hopefully someone sees this!). Thank you Smile

Guessing this is what you've seen.

I've not got the black dots on the 2003 or 2006 model. Looking at the infotec image and write up, then would there be dots if the area was used for parking tickets? Surely you wouldn't be able to read any details on them

They say that the athermic screen reduces the GPS signal. I've never noticed any reduction in the signal, so not sure how good the properties are on the 206.
On the GPS theory, if you get a GPS signal, then I would guess that your TAG should work.
One way that they say to test is stand outside the car with the GPS and see how many satellites you pick up, then move the GPS inside the car and see if you lose 3 or 4 satellites straight away. I'm not sure on this method of testing as you're going to lose some satellites because of the roof, so the test is in no way conclusive.
