Hi all, recently me 206 hdi when you go past 2500rpm the turbo seems to die off and just revs, doesn't pull. Any ideas what it is. There's a smell of burning rubber if you take it to 3000rpm. It is a 2001 2.0 and I think it has been remapped not sure. Thanks

Yeah mate, it's fine and still pulling at 2800 but push it to 3000 and the engine just revs till u change gear then same again at 3000. Do u need an up rated clutch if the car has had a stage 1 remap? Thanks

How many miles as the car done?
If it's a few it would benefit from a new clutch.
An OEM one would be okay but you can Preformance if you wanted.
If you thinking if a stage 2 hdi then definatly get a Preformance clutch Smile

130k and won't be upgrading it any more than it is so a standard clutch kit would be okay?

Whilst its not easy to diagnose a car over the Internet, the symptoms described are not turbo related. I won't tell you you're wrong because, well science makes discoveries not thought possible every day.
But I'd put money on it being a clutch.

The Op is talking about the engine over revving and loosing drive.
He, unlike you doesn't think he knows everything about cars and is willing to listen to advice given by people that were blessed with more than one brain cell.
If the Renault (note the correct spelling) forum is so good, then why don't you go there and talk to your Clio friends. They can probably tell you about their plans to go sit in Maccie Ds car park tonight to see if they can get flames out of their exhausts to compensate for the small size of their penises.

for 1 Learn to spell & for 2 , i've probably forgot more about being a car mechanic than you would think you know about car mechanic Wink

if you have noting constructive to say then i advise you go to your RENAULT forum as this is clearly not the place for you
