Hi... I'm a newbie from South Africa on this forum and just need some assistance. I brought a 2nd hand Peugeot 206 Coupé Cabriolet in December 2013 (My first car). I got it for a great price so I didn't mind that the paddle on the right of my steering wheel that connects to my radio didn't work. I noticed that it kept coming up with an "Air bag Fault", but this still didn't bug me so much. Now that we've just gone into winter (Yes South Africa has winter) I'm having problems. First my car won't unlock using central locking, I have to unlock manually. Even before I put my key in it starts flashing my lights and my windscreen wipers go wild. It also hoots a little, when it's REALLY cold it hoots for a long period of time and it's so loud that I actually have to walk away from my car before my ears bleed. When I do put my key in and try starting the car it says "Engine Immobilizer Fault" and it won't start. It does this for about ten minutes and then starts. I then have to drive to work involuntarily flashing and hooting at people (We have BAD road rage in SA, so one of these days someone is going to get out their car and confront me) . I took it in for a service and they said it was my battery, it had to be replaced. SO I've had it replaced and I'm still having the same problems. Does anyone have any good advice or tips? I don't have the money to replace the whole computer or take it in to a Peugeot Dealership.

Sounds like a faulty comms unit. Will need a pp2000 scan to confirm
You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive
