hi, im new to this forum, and really hope someone can help us out, we brought a 51 plate, 1.1 206 couple of weeks ago, just before we got it, someone fitted an aftermarket radio to it, this is the only thing that has been changed electronically, since owning the vehicle, the rev counter has slowly been working its way backwards, it currently settles on 4000 revs when ignition is off, and suddenly today, the fuel guage has stopped, i put fuel in earlier as tank was almost empty and the needle hasnt moved from empty with the light on, when ignition is off, temp and fuel needles drop right down, rev counter goes to 4000 and the mph is the only one at zero, origionally thinking it was bsi unit, i did the bsi reset procedure, when i turn sidelights on, needles stutter a little but settle back how they were, in the wrong positions, i telephoned a bsi repair company and explained my issue, and the guy sez its more than likely an issue with the actual instrument panel, and not the bsi unit, so i took the casing and screen off the instrument panel and reset all the needles to their correct values manually, and the rev counter is fixed, although i suspect its just going to start going backwards again, the fuel guage however still reads empty, i have to drive the car nearly 300 miles in the morning an these issues are making me very nervous about doing so, even though the car drives perfect still and i suspect it will make the journey just fine, id rather try mend it b4 i go if its summat simple, any help or advice would be most welcome

Have you tried disconnecting the aftermarket stereo that's been fitted?

I know nothing about the electrics, but I think I would have started there, then checked all fuses were ok.

Hope you get it sorted mate Rolling Eyes
