No. I'd have bought a 182 in the first place. It would need to be a very well cared for and good spec'd to swap my car for one.
I don't really know anything about your car or the condition but if it's good I'd say no way hosay.
For one, it's a waste of time. What is the point? it's going sideways. Unless the 180 is a lemon it will have around the same outright pace and not be far different in the corners.
Doesn't it set alarm bells ringing that the guy is willing to swap? your car is 2 years older and has just under 20k more miles... it's as sideways as it is for you to him so I'd question his motives.
I'd be thinking it needs belts etc doing bare minimum. I know it's silver so not exactly the most inspiring color but I can't see why he would want to swap. Other than the 180 looks better imo.

thanks for the advice he says he wants to swap as his mate owns a pug performance garage he said that the belt has just been done at 62k and he has a recipt to prove this I must admit i much much much prefer the look of the 180 but the 182 is worth more thats what has got me intrested.

I wouldn't swap tbh mate, the 182 doesn't really have the good looks like the 180 does and has probably got the same or slightly lower bhp, yes the 182 has more tuning potential for half the cost of tuning the 180.
Going by the pics i've seen on fb it looks pretty standard so your going to have spend money on suspension/tuning when your 180 already has those parts fitted.
A friend of mine has just bought a 172 clio and the interior isn't as good as the 180, it's got leather/alcantara seats similar to the gti137, the steering wheel is too big for my liking and the and I prefer the dials of the 180 anyday over the 172.
If I was to buy a 182 it would purely be for track use

Hmm,
Well common sense to me says, if it's too good to be true it probably is. If it is worth more what is in it for him?
All I'm saying is it potentially, and is likely a dog.
Reverse the roles here, if it was you, would you swap your 2 yr newer and 20k lower milleage car for one that is harder to sell and higher miles etc. The Pug garage thing wouldn't be good enough for me. If you do want it, get it checked over thoroughly imo!

to be honest this has made my mind up I think its best to stay clear i really think the clio look boring as it is without adding silver to it lol just thought id go for it as the value of the car is more but like you say that brings up the question WHY??? thanks for the advise guys.

No worries.
I'm not saying the 180 is any better, just that it is sideways and doesn't ring true to me. Usually if it sounds too good to be true it is, he could sell his car and get more money and buy a 180 so why not do that?
It could be ok, but swaps to me just sounds bizarre.

If they are a lot cheaper to tune I'll sell my 180 for one lol!
I thought most highly strung N/a's are dollar to tune for power without going forced! If that's the case I made the wrong choice because I want to go alot faster than I am lol!

There's certainly more tuning parts available for the 172/182 from places like k-tec etc, i'd only buy one to use on track and use the 180 for a daily

The 182 are known for timing slipping too and to be fair the 172 is .4 seconds to 60 slower than a 182 and a lot cheaper so no brainer which one you would get anyway - the 172/182 only run well on high octane fuel else they are lumpy and judder a lot..if prefer a 189 anyway better looks, kit and you have a better colour Jason!
