Hi guys new to this forum and cars...and driving.
So about 2 weeks ago i got myself a 2000 reg 1.4 petrol 206 all was working ok until yesterday, I went on a short trip about a mile and a half and the car heated to about 100 (so i drove slowly home) and discovered there was no Collant/water w.e in the tank filled it up drove it round the block didnt heated up to 70 got back home checked water tank again...little/no water thought it must just be pumping round the system so filled again.

Now when i accelerate i can hear like a rushing water sound even when in neutral and just putting the foot down there's also brown stuff in the coolant tank(maybe rust i dunno :/).

Ive looked under the car and cant see any leaks anywhere and it now kind of over heats gets ot about 95 odd randomly then cools back downa gain... Da fuq is going on?

Unscrew oil cap and hope there isnt brown cakey foam anywhere

Well as far as what you said,the temp. about 95 or even 100 is not high,this is the normal temp. for Peugeot,but about there is no water in the coolant tank,which is not a good thing,it should be on the max. always,but maybe it's time to get the car checked,as it sound that there is no coolant there what so ever,which explains the brown color,it can be rust,so try to coolant flush,and see if u have clear water color.

do this few times,and then drive the car for few days,and see how thing goes,and check for leak in the cam belt area,as u might have a faulty water pump.

Thanks for the info still no sign of any leaks or water where it shouldnt be but the tank is still draining quickly. ill take it to a garage to see what they say.
