I'm jay just joined up to your website. I have always been into my French cars and had a few with allot of work already done to them. Clio cup and Saxo vtr. I have now bought myself a 2.0 206 gti on a 2000 plate. I only payed 600 for it and it's in pretty good condition overall. No dents or scrapes. I have come across a few problems that I require help with and some tips from people who know what they are talking about.
First off I had an annoying knocking coming from the front end and a crunch type noise when turning. I have replaced wishbones, track rod ends, anti roll bar bushes and the drop link and although the knocking isn't as bad it's still their. I'm thinking it could possibly be the suspension mounts. What would people say?
Then I have a squeaking noise on the back end when driving?
The car has some sort of induction kit on it although it doesn't look much and seems to have a sport exhaust on it with a normal cat but it doesn't feel very pokey bait flat at time what could this be? Would it be a good Idea to put a decay on it? Seems like exhaust has been on a long time.
I have 17inch alloys on it and the ride height is quite high I'm looking to lower it but with torsion bar on the rear I'm not sure how to do it. But want to do all myself if I can?
I'm looking to modify my car bit by bit what would people suggest I do first and what can I do in general to it?
I'd appreciate any info I can get thanks

I would say the back end is the axle. Most likely the bearings but I could be wrong. Could be worth buying a refurb axle and have it ready lowered for you As for modding your car Check out some of the Project threads Like Mine to get a bit of inspiration. www.206info.co.uk/Foru...60500.html
Welcome to the forums Jay.

Welcome, best thing to make it a bit pokey is a 4 branch manifold, as its so restrictive of 138's
The knock could be shock absorbers and the crunching could be top mounts.

Mr white how did you pleather your door cards or where did you get material for it? Is it easy to change a read axel myself? Your car looks mint I will have to do some pics of mine.
Addaz what manifold would it have on now? And where would be the best place be to get a new one? Also the crunch on the front end could it be steering rack? I've change all bits I mentioned but steering feels abit shaky like abit jerkish when driving.
Thanks

There is an excellent tutorial on retraining the door cards and it was easy for a simpleton like me to follow just make sure you get some good adhesive apart glue as the hot weather is causing hell in my car and it's a bit saggy on the roof now
Go to your local sewing type shop not sure the technical name and you can try it with all sorts if material
