My 1.4 HDI PUG 206 passed its MOT today but had 2 Advisorys:-
1. Offside front shock absorber has a light misting of oil.
2. Play in steering rack inner joints.
Are these easy fixes for a confident DIYer of is it a job for the garage?

1) Clean it & see if it get's worse, if it does then new pair of dampers for the front.
2) You really need the special tool to unscrew & then refit the steering tie rods & anyway it would need tracking doing after as well.
There both easy jobs IF you have the correct tools.

When I changed mine I just used a decent pair of mole grips to get the old one's off & the replacements had space to get a spanner around them to tighten up.
